Barcelona European Forest City 2022

Barcelona was selected by the European Forest Institute (EFI) as the 2022 European Forest City. To commemorate this award and accompany the year's events and activities, a logo and brand identity were designed.
The logo makes reference to the geometry found in nature and depicts the duality of the city and the forest using hexagons, a shape commonly associated to the city because of Gaudi's Panot, which paves Barcelona's iconic Passeig de GrĂ cia street. These hexagons were also used throughout the brand's visual identity as the principal graphic element.
